i'm leaving today for arizona. land of the no MLK day and home of the vigilante border patrol posse. i'm sure the state has its better qualities: lovely nature, home of the t.v. show, "alice" and even "waiting to exhale" was shot there. i'll be playing the coveted role of "token woman of color" at a very light-colored techie conference with my best bud, "t." it will be a mini vacation for us, granted that we don't run into trouble.

man... maybe i should move. i shouldn't have to rely on trips to arizona conferences in order to hang out with my best friend. i don't know how much longer i'll give LA before i hang my hat. i need to pack...
